On October 19, 2018, a group of 30 International Business students from Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) visited Call Center Services International's Otay Center in Tijuana to learn about the company's business model, the benefits of nearshoring, and the opportunities available to U.S. companies establishing operations in Mexico.
The students received a brief introduction to CCSI, followed by a tour of the facility, and concluded their visit with a Q&A session.
Ismael Moreno, who served as CCSI's Marketing Director at the time, welcomed the students and explained some of the principal nearshore benefits, including proximity to the U.S., access to an abundant recruitment pool of bilingual and bicultural agents, and the professional infrastructure CCSI provides. Moreno also discussed what distinguished CCSI from other contact centers in the region, emphasizing the company's years of experience.
After the introduction, the International Business students toured the facility with Sal Ramirez and Gabriel Zermeño, who served as Business Development Executives for CCSI at the time. They visited several operations areas and learned about the different processes CCSI managed, including debt collection, appointment setting, and loan servicing.
At the end of the visit, the students participated in a Q&A session with Gustavo Leon, who served as CCSI's General Director at the time, along with Sal Ramirez and Gabriel Zermeño. The students asked questions about nearshoring, contact center processes, the challenges of the region, and the opportunities the Tijuana region offers to U.S. businesses.
