CCSI is a successful ISO 20000-1 certified company

CCSI is a successful ISO 20000-1 certified company

In 2021, Call Center Services International (CCSI) renewed its ISO/IEC 20000-1 certification, reinforcing the company's commitment to structured IT service management, operational consistency, and continuous improvement across the services supporting its Nearshore Contact Center operations.

CCSI's 2021 ISO/IEC 20000-1 Renewal

In April 2021, CCSI completed an external audit associated with the renewal of its ISO/IEC 20000-1 certification. The certification validated the implementation of an IT Service Management System designed to support consistent processes, service delivery, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

"The external audit was carried out on April 2021, obtaining the corresponding renewal and certification, validating the implementation of our IT Service Management System."

— Alejandra Miranda, Compliance Director at the time, Call Center Services International

The renewal represented an important operational milestone for CCSI as the company continued developing the systems and processes supporting its contact center infrastructure and client operations.

What Is ISO/IEC 20000-1?

ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018 is an international standard that specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving a Service Management System (SMS).

The standard addresses the planning, design, transition, delivery, and improvement of services so organizations can manage them through structured and repeatable processes.

A Structured Service Management System

A Service Management System provides a framework for defining responsibilities, documenting procedures, monitoring service performance, managing changes, responding to incidents, and continually evaluating opportunities for improvement.

For an organization supporting multiple contact center operations, standardized service-management processes can help provide consistency as teams, technology, infrastructure, and client requirements grow.

Continuous Improvement

ISO/IEC 20000-1 emphasizes continual improvement rather than treating certification as a one-time exercise. Organizations are expected to monitor and review their Service Management System and identify ways to improve service planning, delivery, and performance over time.

This approach aligns naturally with contact center environments where technology, customer requirements, workforce needs, and operational processes continually evolve.

Incident and Service Management

Structured IT service management can also help organizations establish clearer processes for handling incidents, service requests, operational changes, and other events that may affect service delivery.

The objective is not to eliminate every possible incident, but to establish processes that help teams identify problems, respond consistently, reduce operational impact, and learn from recurring issues.

How IT Service Management Supports Contact Center Operations

Contact centers depend heavily on technology. Agent workstations, connectivity, customer platforms, telephony, remote access, Workforce Management systems, Quality Assurance tools, and client applications all contribute to daily operations.

A structured IT service-management framework can support these environments by helping organizations establish consistent procedures for service requests, system changes, incident response, documentation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

For CCSI, these disciplines support the technology infrastructure behind its professional contact center facilities in Mexico, Work-From-Home operations, and services such as IT support and Quality Assurance.

It is also important to distinguish service management from information security. ISO/IEC 20000-1 focuses primarily on managing and improving services. Information security is addressed more directly through standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 and other cybersecurity and compliance controls.

CCSI's Certification and Compliance Framework Today

The 2021 ISO/IEC 20000-1 renewal remains part of CCSI's certification history, and CCSI continues to reference ISO 20000 certification within its current Nearshore BPO services materials.

Since this article was originally published, CCSI's certification and compliance framework has continued to evolve. The company's current Cybersecurity Certifications and Compliance program highlights SOC 2, HIPAA compliance, PCI DSS, and ISO/IEC 27001 as part of the framework supporting enterprise Nearshore Contact Center operations.

In July 2026, CCSI also announced that it had achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification across its operations in Mexico, adding an internationally recognized information security management standard to its current security framework.

Together, service-management standards, cybersecurity certifications, operational controls, and compliance programs help provide a structured foundation for organizations evaluating a Nearshore provider for processes involving customer interactions, technology, and sensitive information.

Historical note: First published in July 2021, this article has been reviewed and updated while preserving CCSI's original ISO/IEC 20000-1 renewal milestone and Alejandra Miranda's original statement regarding the April 2021 external audit. Her title and the certification event reflect CCSI as it operated at the time. Additional context has been included to distinguish IT service management from information security and to reflect the continued evolution of CCSI's certification and compliance framework.
