Contact center redundancy is essential for maintaining customer service when technology, facilities, connectivity, or workforce availability is disrupted. This is especially important for organizations providing 24/7 support, where even a short interruption can affect customers, service levels, revenue, and business continuity.
For contact centers, being available when customers need assistance is an important part of the customer experience. But maintaining continuous service becomes more difficult when an organization experiences a power outage, telecommunications failure, natural disaster, cyberattack, equipment failure, or another unexpected disruption.
Organizations cannot prevent every event that could affect an operation. They can, however, prepare systems, infrastructure, people, and alternative locations so that a single failure does not necessarily stop the entire contact center.
